4 Ways to Celebrate Veterans Day

Veterans Day was established as a national holiday in 1938 and pays tribute to American veterans who have served and active duty service members who are currently serving our nation. Here are four ways you can celebrate these brave men and women at home, school and work.

  1. Wear a red poppy or yellow ribbon to show your support for our troops.
  2. Acknowledge your veterans. Show the veterans in your family, at school or in your office your appreciation for their service by giving them a gift or thank you card.
  3. Attend a local parade or vigil. If you live in the Tallahassee area, Vet Events Tally is hosting a Veterans Day Parade featuring floats, food vendors and arts and crafts.
  4. Show your gratitude. If you see a man or woman in uniform, be sure to say thank you. They will appreciate your kindness and feel special on this day of recognition.
